General Manager Natalie le Clerc discusses Chesterfield Palm Beach's re-opening on 4th June.


As The Chesterfield Palm Beach prepares to welcome guests back, we catch up with General Manager Natalie le Clerc.

How did you start out in the hospitality industry?

Originally from Australia, I began my career in the travel industry as a travel agent in Sydney - before becoming a tour manager for Contiki holidays in Europe, and then moving to manage Contiki Resorts in Australia, Greece and Indonesia. Both Red Carnation Hotels and Contiki are part of the same TTC family of brands, and I have been with the company for over 20 years.

What has kept you in the travel industry for so long?

I love to travel and enjoy being busy. I enjoy working in a 24-hour business where I have the opportunity to meet new people from all over the world, every day. Having lived and worked in 4 continents, I also have many friends in the travel industry, worldwide, so I am never short of a reason to take a trip.

As The Chesterfield Palm Beach Hotel plans to reopen on the 4th June, do you have anything new to share?

Executive Chef Gerard Coughlin and his team have created a delicious new menu, offering an eclectic mixture of classic American, English, Asian and international dishes, served alongside much-loved signature recipes by our founder Beatrice Tollman including Maryland style lump crab cakes, Chef Gerard’s turkey burger, shrimp stroganoff and key lime pie. 

The Leopard Bar is infamous for its live music and is a popular night spot on Palm Beach, what’s new?

We re-opened the leopard bar this week and were excited to welcome back our local guests. Our talented mixologist team have been busy creating some new health-boosting cocktails alongside some mood-boosting ones too! And we are hoping to welcome back our musicians very soon!

Do you have any special re-opening offers or promotions?

We are looking forward to celebrating the 4th July with our guests next month and have created an exciting package which includes a special 4th July BBQ! We have also created a ‘Palm Beach High Rollers’ offer which celebrates the very best of The Chesterfield including a stay in our beautiful Presidential Suite, an exclusive tour of Palm Beach in our vintage Rolls Royce and an exclusive tasting menu created by our Executive Chef.

What is the perfect way to enjoy Palm Beach?

We offer our guests the opportunity to take an exclusive tour of the island in our vintage Rolls Royce, this is a relaxing way to see the beautiful coastline and beaches, the palm lined avenues and boutiques of Worth Avenue. Guests can relax with a glass of champagne or stop off for a delicious picnic, prepared by the hotel. Alternatively, guests can hire a bicycle and enjoy the island and the lake trail path which runs alongside the intra-coastal.

Palm Beach is famous for the many boutiques, do you have a particular favourite?

There are plenty of interesting and special boutiques on Palm Beach, especially on Worth Avenue and at the Royal Poinciana Plaza. One of my favourite boutiques is Lilly Pulitzer - the brand just celebrated its 60th anniversary and creates bright, colourful, floral prints, inspired by the palm beach lifestyle.
