From blues bands in intimate venues to vibrant outdoor festivals, a thriving live music scene lies at the heart of Palm Beach. Rock, reggae, country and pop are all woven into its cultural fabric, and a weekly concert series brings rhythm from across the region to its atmospheric waterfront. Follow our guide to the best places to see live music in Palm Beach while staying at the Chesterfield Hotel.
WEST PALM BEACH
This brewery and bar, which has over 50 beers on tap, bills itself as a ‘rock pub’, playing host to local bands on an almost daily basis. As a result, Copper Blues has become one of the most talked-about spots in the area for live entertainment. And the food is excellent, too; expect burgers filled to bursting and flavourful brick-oven pizzas.
Alongside serving up exquisite seafood – in the form of burritos, tacos and platters – and handcrafted drinks, Tin Fish offers frequent live music performances in its upstairs space. Stop by for acoustic and jazz performances, which are both staples on the weekly schedule.
Situated on Clematis Street, Respectable Street is the go-to for alternative live music and DJs, with ska and rock bands frequently taking to its indoor and outdoor stages. The patio area fills up in summer, and the large dance floor attracts a hip crowd.
Perfect Vodka Amphitheatre
For an all-out, big-name concert, head to Perfect Vodka Amphitheatre, a 19,000 capacity outdoor arena. Acclaimed artists from Florida and beyond have graced its stage, with American band Dixie Chicks and Grammy Award-winner Keith Urban among those set to feature this year. As an added bonus, its modern amphitheatre design provides incredible views over West Palm Beach.
For something a little different try Dada, an innovative, award-winning restaurant set on Delray Beach, which hosts jazz bands, rock performances and DJs. Expect a quirky artistic interior, and a rustic, fairy-lit feel outside, with food ranging from crab cakes to Cuban pork belly.
Boston’s on the Beach
Overlooking the ocean, this three-in-one seafood restaurant welcomes live performers to its downstairs stage every night, catering to an eclectic range of tastes. Country, reggae, blues and rock are all on the agenda at Boston’s on the Beach, alongside powerful solo singers and catchy tribute bands.
Clematis by night
Every Thursday, West Palm Beach waterfront is transformed into a musical extravaganza with free concerts as well as various food and drink stalls. Clematis by night has become a popular tradition with locals, and draws in a large crowd of visitors who come to watch local bands in a laid-back, festival-inspired atmosphere.
Florida’s biggest beachside music festival, SunFest, lures in over 175,000 music fans every spring. This year’s spectacle, taking place from April 27th to May 1st, features Meghan Trainor, Jason Derulo and Bastille among its all-star line-up. There’s also an art and craft show alongside fireworks, food stalls and a three-floor floating bar.
The live music doesn’t end there though; soak up the opulence of The Leopard Lounge Bar in the Chesterfield Hotel to see its daily live music performances while sipping on the bar’s specialty cocktails.
