Date: October 12th to January 2nd 2011
Visitors heading to luxury Palm Beach hotel the Chesterfield Palm Beach for a break in October will be able to learn more about the origins of the island as a world-renowned tourism destination.
Taking place at the Flagler Museum between October 12th and January 2nd next year, Mizner Mediterranean: The Origins of Palm Beach Style explores the influence renowned architect Addison Mizner had on creating the look of the area as we know it today.
It is being held in honour of the 100th anniversary of the inception of the Town of Palm Beach and will focus on the most significant projects Mizner undertook in the area, including the Everglades Club, Via Mizner and Via Parigi.
Also on show will be a number of "lost masterpieces", such as his blueprints for a tiled courtyard for the Whitehall hotel.
The museum will use photographs, plans and architectural drawings to offer an insight into the vision Mizner had for the area, as well as items such as tiles and ceramics that were imported to Palm Beach for use in his buildings.
Guests at the hotel who have booked the Nights and the Museums package can see the exhibition for free, as the offer includes a pair of tickets to both the Norton and Flagler Museums.
In addition, they will receive a deluxe fruit plate to enjoy on arrival, an English breakfast to start their day each morning and a romantic dinner in the Leopard Room on a night of their choice.
