Event: Crime in Miami at the Historical Museum of Southern Florida
Date: Runs until August 29th
Giving a fascinating insight into underworld activity on the east coast of the US, the Crime in Miami exhibition at the Historical Museum of Southern Florida is an ideal attraction for those planning a break in the area.
Running until August 29th, the display details some of the city's infamous gangsters like Al Capone, as well as illegal alcohol smuggling during prohibition and the drug wars of the 1980s.
Photographs and other documents will be on display to visitors who want to learn more about the criminal activity that has taken place in the city over the past decades, along with material from other sources, such as the Florida Department of Corrections.
However, guests staying at luxury Miami hotel the Chesterfield Palm Beach for whom this is not a topic of interest will still have a reason to visit the Historical Museum of Southern Florida, as it is also home to a number of other exhibits.
On permanent display is Tropical Dreams: A People's History of South Florida, while beginning on September 16th is Florida Cattle Ranching: Five Centuries of Tradition.
And after enjoying a day at the museum, guests who have booked the Get More From Your Stay at the Chesterfield Palm Beach will be able to return to a romantic turndown in their room on one evening.
