Event: Three Tall Women
Date: April 23rd until June 13th
When one reaches 90 years of age they can look back on their lives with a mixture of satisfaction, regret, shame and happiness.
This is especially true of woman A in Edward Albee's moving play Three Tall Women.
The story begins with three women sat in a circle – the elderly and slightly senile woman A, her trusty companion and helper woman B and the young lawyer woman C.
As the three sit in A's beautiful bedroom, she recalls episodes from her past and goes into long-winded storytelling.
Her contradictory tales irk C but B discourages her from being too harsh on their elderly host.
It later transpires that B and C are representations of A's past, with each telling the story of a particular phase of her life.
The happiness of her childhood, the estrangement from her gay son and the pain caused by her husband's infidelity are all revealed as she looks back on her life with mixed emotions.
Woman A's story is told from her beautifully-appointed bedroom and visitors can enjoy some time in one of their own by booking a stay at the nearby luxury Florida hotel the Chesterfield Palm Beach and enjoying the delights of the Get More From Your Stay package.
Those who stay for a minimum of two nights are offered a choice from a bottle of Champagne, a romantic turndown, traditional English afternoon tea, an executive two-course lunch and a late checkout on the final day.
