Figaro is the count Almaviva's valet and is set to marry Susanna but things are complicated when his bride-to-be reveals the royal has his romantic eye on her.

However, Susanna is not the only lady in demand, as Cherubino, a young page, has taken a liking to the countess and the nobleman quickly sends his love rival away by assigning him to his own regiment.

The countess is upset and hurt at her husband's interests in the other woman and she, Susanna and Figaro conspire to expose and humiliate the philanderer.

A masterplan is hatched which will leave the count red-faced and have the audience applauding for a long time.
