Forget about the upcoming Academy Awards and cast aside thoughts about the Cannes Film Festivals.

For an event that focuses on the emerging filmmakers of the present and future, guests of luxury Florida hotel Chesterfield Palm Beach should give their attention to the Palm Beach International Film Festival, which takes place in April.

Bringing world cinema to Florida from April 10th until April 17th 2008, the Palm Beach International Film Festival claims to be committed to "supporting emerging filmmakers of today and tomorrow".

Last year, over 20,000 film fans attended the event which has for the past 12 years showcased thousands of award-winning films, filmmakers and actors from regions from all over the world.

Those attending the event from luxury Florida hotel Chesterfield Palm Beach will be attending one of the top 25 independent festivals in the world, according to the film festival organisers.

Founded in 1996 by Burt Aaronson and George Elmore, the Palm Beach International Film Festival has since welcomed top celebrities and filmmakers such as Adrien Brody, Anthony Hopkins, Faye Dunaway, Michael Caine, Salma Hayek, Sylvester Stallone, and Burt Reynolds among others.
