The Chesterfield Palm Beach is one of the best places to stay on Florida's east coast, not only because of its opulent rooms and prime setting, but also because it's located only an hour or so's drive from Miami - one of the Sunshine State's most exciting cities.

Renowned for its great shopping, vibrant nightlife and high profile sports teams, you can enjoy a fantastic day trip from Palm Beach. And this October, there's even more reason to visit the Magic City as Festival Miami, Florida's premier live music festival, returns for the 30th time.

Between October 1st and November 1st, the festival will present an extensive concert programme featuring internationally renowned artists hosted by the University of Miami's Frost School of Music at its picturesque Coral Gables campus.

There are a number of themes this year: creative American music; jazz and beyond; master classes; and music of the Americas.

On the bill are the Frost Studio Jazz Band's tribute to Bruce Hornsby on October 11th, highly rated blues guitarist Ana Popovic on October 19th and the Costa Rica National Symphony Orchestra on October 22nd, among many other great acts.

Sadly for Gloria Estefan enthusiasts, the seven-time Grammy Award-winning singer's show on October 1st has already sold out, along with famed violinist Joshua Bell and virtuoso bassist Edgar Meyer's Double Concerto performance on October 4th.

Gig tickets for the shows that haven't already sold out can be purchased online and range from as little as $10 to $60 (£6.50 to £38.50), with a select number free. Many are being held at the 600-seater Maurice Gusman Concert Hall on Miller Drive, where there is a car lot with valet parking for just $5.

There's also great value to be had at the Chesterfield Palm Beach, where you can currently book a suite and get 3 nights for the price of 2 - a fabulous combination of luxury and value.
